My photography journey began in 2023 after moving to North Carolina for my next duty station. With no creative hobbies to share at my new unit’s meet-and-greet, I thought back to a week-long course on photography that I got during the Basic Reconnaissance Course in Camp Pendleton, California. I remember pushing a pack through the cold water of Coronado later in that course, thinking about all the things I could do with my time when I finished the course and regained my freedom. Months later, while attending Marine Combatant Dive School in Florida, I bought my first camera, and photography quickly became my creative outlet. Since then, I’ve acquired several other cameras and lenses, including my favorite film camera, my grandfather’s 1970s Nikon FM, which is still in pristine condition.
For now, I won’t sell my work. Photography, to me, is about the journey and the skill-building. Photography forces you to go outside and document the world around you. I’ve also restored vintage film cameras I find in local shops before moving to new duty stations. Each camera adds a chapter to my story, capturing both its past and my present through each roll of film.
This website is centered around my photography but also includes insights of my life, experiences, and thoughts. This website is for friends, family, and anyone who passes by, but also to document my experiences for my future self to remember.
Although my photos aren't for sale, it doesn't mean they aren't available. If you enjoy one of my photos, use the contact form to reach me, and I will send you a print.
