If you’ve somehow found yourself here, congratulations. You have discovered a single atom in the universe that is the internet, and I have done little to no advertising for this website.
This is version 2 of my website. I barely consider myself a photographer, let alone a web designer, and I have yet to conquer the problem of how to get more than five images per page. So, for now, photo pages are limited to five photos until I figure out how to add more.
The photo limitation is but one issue with my website quests. The other is how I want to structure it. I broke it down by month on my last website, so I made a whole new static page and dumped the photos there. However, some months my wife and I are all over the place. For example, in September 2024, I was in the Outer Banks, Vermont, Arkansas, and Texas, all within a month. These places are all beautiful in their own right, and I want to record my experiences in each location.
At the beginning of 2024, I made it a resolution to take a photo daily. I made it about halfway through the year before I failed. There were too many busy work days where I couldn't carry around my Sony A7IV, and I ran out of things inside my house and around the neighborhood to take photos of. It was a cool resolution because no matter what day you look at a photo, you can see the photo and recall precisely the circumstances of that photo. I can look at a photo from a random day in 2024 (or even 2023) and remember exactly the story involved.
I believe that looking at old photos is healthy for an old mind. I'm sure there is some science to back this up that I haven't looked into, but selfishly, part of the goal of this website and my archives is to document the adventures and good times so that I can reflect when I am old. I recently bought a Ricoh GRIIIx HDF that fits in my pocket and I have made the resolution once again to take a photo a day for 2025. The goal is that, if I make it to old age, I can look back on the adventures of 2025 and the descriptions from this website. However I end up formatting this website, hopefully I can recall the good times, just like I was there again.
